    Unhappy The Good Old Days

Hello everybody, while I have been looking at the Trove website for a few months it was only today I have got around to registering. A few months ago I started recording some of my memories from living in Wyndham back in the 1940s. It currently stretches for 4 pages and I would like to put it up here in the hope of finding somebody that shares my memories, but do not want to chock the system with too long a post. Can somebody tell me what should be my next move.

Hi jvsimo1, I don't think Trove is meant for contemporary manuscripts (see: http://trove.nla.gov.au/forum/showth...l-Diaries-Here). But Wyndham Historical Society would probably be interested, see: http://www.collectionsaustralia.net/org/1758/about/.

I think a website where everyone could post their reminisces and memories would be an important historical source for future generations.

You might contact the State Library of Western Australia to see if you could donate your work to the Battye Library. A typescript to accompany the original handwritten MS might assist readers.
As a reader, I prefer to access MSS freely, rather than by user subscription to works for which no fee has been paid to the creator (such as Ancestry).
[Westraliania is fascinating and rare. Wyndham has played a significant role at particular periods, and to have primary source material about - for example - Wyndham identities, indigenous people, the meat-works, flora and fauna, the notorious Dr Victor Henry Webster, mining, state-ships, WWII, health issues, isolation and the roles of women would be an invaluable contribution].
