Is there anything our library needs to do?
Like much of Trove, the new features source some information from the Australian Libraries Gateway (ALG). The Trove team has worked hard to add the necessary authentication credentials to ALG entries. There are two pieces of data you should specifically review:

1. Your short name.
This is the library name users will see for online electronic journal holdings. Your short name should be unique and immediately identifiable to users of your library. Eg instead of just ‘Macquarie’ have ‘Macquarie University’, ‘Lake Macquarie City’, ‘CSIRO Macquarie’ etc. You’ll need to avoid generic names like ‘University library’, which could apply to a number of institutions.

You can edit your short name by finding your library in the ALG http://www.nla.gov.au/apps/libraries then clicking the ‘Edit this record’ button, entering your password and clicking ‘Edit this page’. Update your short name and then click ‘Submit these updated details’.

2. Your Trove Configuration.
Contained on this ALG page are your Gale and Informit customer identifiers, Proxy server addresses and IP address ranges (for Trove to detect if your users are onsite). These are not published publicly in the ALG or shared with the public, they are only used behind-the-scenes in Trove. You can edit your Trove configuration details by finding your library in the ALG http://www.nla.gov.au/apps/libraries then clicking the ‘Edit this record’ button, choosing the radio button ‘Trove configuration’, entering your password and clicking ‘Edit this page’. Update your details and then click ‘Submit these updated details’.

Please note that you cannot update the IP address ranges supplied by Gale and Informit through this interface. These ranges are used to identify when a user is onsite at your library only.

Although a field is provided for OpenURL resolvers, these are not currently being used to provide access to eResources through Trove.

If you want to update your entry but have forgotten your password, contact ALG administration and ask for your password - http://www.nla.gov.au/libraries/help/algadmin.html

You can test access to items via your subscriptions, to ensure the process is working for your library.
