    Survey maps of the UK

Here is a really cool map of the UK complied from ordinance survey maps from 1919-1947. You can zoom in to see a wealth of detail. The link is http://nlls.tileserver.com/

This is a great idea and one maybe worth copying for Australia using the resources of the map collection.

Are there any survey maps of Australia?

I heard that in Australia, they had some of the most dangerous people in the world (the ones who were 'put' there by travelers like the Europeans at least). But the natives such as the Aborigines, were the most calm and cool of all. Too funny. The 'advanced' people had it all wrong! It's like some stories I've heard about the chickasaw people of Oklahoma. Not a lot of people know their true history, but a local, I'm really learning a lot about them to this day. They are still trying to find the maps from that tribe...and I think they're making progress.

Do you find that the web is bringing together people in new ways? Like how about those family tree websites? I wonder if any of families are using maps to catch up with history?

    Hi Ian.
I found this maps of the Netherlands. Has a cool feature to input the exact location and the tells you automatically what was where. Great way to explore the history of a country. http://watwaswaar.nl/
