Orbost & District Historical Society are now in Trove

Items from the Orbost & District Historical Society Museum were recently added to Trove. The collection mainly relates to European settlement history since the 1870s in the Orbost district and a collection of artefacts donated by local people and relating to family history.

It includes these kerosene road flares used by the Orbost Aero Club in the 1960s to show the wind direction on the runway used when transporting patients by aerial ambulance to Melbourne.

They also have biscuit rations from the Boer War, fossils, cast iron raisin stoners, a program from the 1925 Marlo Picnic Races, and lots more.

Check out their collection in Trove: http://trove.nla.gov.au/picture/resu...%22VORH%3AM%22
