Over 4000 new eHive records from the Maritime Museum of Tasmania have recently been added to Trove and can be seen here.

The Maritime Museum of Tasmania collection promotes the understanding of the maritime heritage of Tasmania and the importance of the sailing and steam ships to the development of Tasmania and its industries.

Objects in the collection include an Octant from the Barque Lady Franklin mounted in a glass top case with interpretation, a full rigged ship worked in wool upon hessian and mounted in a huon pine frame and a bench end from the vessel Brier Holme.

Some of the earliest pictures include a group of vessels anchored at South arm in 1895 and a fleet of seven ketches racing under full sail taken in 1900.

We look forward to receiving more records from the Maritime Museum of Tasmania in the near future.
