New records from the National Museum of Australia
Over 61,000 new records from the National Museum of Australian have recently been added to Trove and can be seen here.
Included in these additional records are over two thousand items from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs (ATSIAA) Art Collection as well as over 100 artworks from the Canning Stock Route Collection.
There are over 3000 records for artefacts from the Faithfull Family Collection, from Springfield station, south of Goulburn. 'This diverse collection reflects the growth and economic success of the property, responses to changes in the wool market and the daily lives of the people who have lived on Springfield'.
A small Federation collection includes medallions , bunting and a teaspoon from the George and Sylvia Milne collection. Over seven thousand postcards from the Josef Lebovic Postcard Collection can be seen here.
The Nance Pownall Collection gives us a taste of the world of women's cricket, or if fashion is your interest, several hats belonging to Dame Pattie Menzies can be seen here.
Of political interest is a bee smoker from the William Yates collection used by William Yates (Member for Holt, 1975-1980) in the maintenance of hives in the House of Representative rose gardens and the gardens at the Lodge.
